Our goal at project Here is to capture the stories of the people of Petaluma and discover why they choose to call this corner of the world home. These people are the heart of our city. They make it authentic and give it a soul. Their stories shape our culture, our vibe, our history and our present. All in an effort to discover what connects us, what separates us, what will bring us together. This event will continue to be an ongoing photo documentery designed and photographed by the people that live HERE for the people that live HERE.
This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I saw these posters in Aqus, and was thinking, “I recognize those folks.” I’m a transplant, but I love this place. Thanks so much for putting in this creative energy. Is this something that other cities/towns are doing? If not, they should be. Let me know how I can help.
I walked down to Aqus Café this morning with plans of getting some work done, only to discover the fantastic portrait series called A Sense of Place – by Project HERE. I could hardly pull myself away from the images, such perfect expressions of Petaluma and the people who bring it to life. I have lived in Chico, San Diego, Berkeley, and finally Petaluma, and I can’t imagine a better place to be than here. What other place mixes the best from the past with the best from today and tomorrow – and does so with artistic finesse? Street fairs, farmers markets, antique shows, live music, great restaurants, coffee shops, the Petaluma River, AND the City is only 30 minutes away! What’s not to love? Thank you for expressing Petaluma and the people of this community so brilliantly!
